Intro To Paintball

Paintball is not only one of the fastest growing sports in the country but it's also one of the fastest growing sports in the world!. Not only can you watch paintball on TV but there are now also pro paintball leagues as well as several registered pro paintball teams in the states. With paintball being seen more and more in the mainstream many are asking themselves if paintball is something they might enjoy?

The biggest fear people have when it comes to paintball is whether or not it will hurt when they get hit with paintballs flying at them at a speed of 250-300 feet per second and the answer is maybe...

The thing is paintball is an adrenaline filled sport and there's really no tellin what you'll feel and what you won't feel when you're out there playing paintball. The honest truth is most people can bear the sting that accompanies playing paintball but you can also do things like wear the appropriate gear to protect yourself on the paintball field and minimize any oain you might feel.

In paintball your gun isn't called a gun it's called a paintball marker and the ammunition for your marker are paintballs or "paint." Your best bet when it comes to paintball guns is to rent them your first few times out. Paintball guns aren't cheap so you don't want to buy one unless you know you like the sport. Believe me the last thing you want to do is spend a lot of money on a new paintball gun that you won't be happy with because you didn't do your research and due diligence beforehand. Before you buy yourself a paintball marker make sure you try a few different paintball guns from a few different manufacturers out first.

Next to your paintball gun your paintball mask or goggles are the most important piece of equipment on the paintball field. Trust me you don't want to get hit in the face, eyes or ears with a paintball and that's why I recommend you wear a paintball mask that covers all three before you go out on the paintball field for battle.

One of the greatest things about paintball are the different fields you play on and all the different, pardon my french, crap you seen thrown about them! Personally speaking I like to see all kinds of "stuff" thrown about on the paintball field because it adds to the urban feel of the game. Nothing like feeling like a soldier out on a patrol in an urban setting!

One of my favorite games in paintball is "capture the Flag" but most other paintballers gravitate to games like woodsball or speedball.

Do yourself a favor and give paintball a try! Rent all your gear your first time out and see what youthink. At the very least I guarantee you'll have a good time!
