What To Wear And What Not To Wear When You Go Paintballing

Paintball is definitely a tremendous sport but it really is important that you wear the right gear to avoid getting injured. Wearing the right clothes not only makes the sport of paintball more enjoyable but it also makes it safer. A lot of folks think that you have to wear gear and clothes specifically for paintball and that's just not true.

Occasionally you will see many people playing paintball in shorts and t-shirts and that's just not a good thought. You're also bound to run into the folks that think or believe they're professional paintballers and that this specific paintball game is the superbowl of paintballing. While certain items can change the way you play paintball, the clothes you wear will have little to no impact unless you're the dolt that went out there in a t-shirt and shorts. When deciding what to wear it's important to wear something you'll be comfortable in, wear something that's flexible and cover as much skin as possible.

When deciding what clothes to play paintball with choose clothes that are preferably thicker and make sure you pick clothes that will cover both your arms and your legs. Wearing casual clothes is ok for paintball just stay away from any light-colored clothes because they could get stained due to the paint from the paintballs. If wearing your own clothes, wear clothes that are preferably thick, wear clothes that cover your legs and arms and finally wear something that is loose enough to allow you to be flexible.

Whatever you do don't wear anything new or anything that you do not need to lose because not only do you risk getting paint all over it but your clothes could also get torn from rolling around on the ground. Your best bet is to wear clothes that are comfortable and that cover your arms and legs.

I get a lot of questions about camouflage and all I have to say is that paintball isn't real combat so camo may be overkill. Paintballs can bruise or welt your skin so wearing clothes that cover your arms and legs and that are a little thicker then just a t-shirt can help more then wearing camouflage. Another body part you want to consider is the back of your neck because paintball normally takes place outside.

A paintball mask is more important then any clothing you wear out on the paintball field though. Getting hit it the eyes with a paintball that is traveling at about 300 feet per second could result in a serious injury unless you're wearing a good paintball mask to protect your eyes, ears and face. You can also wear goggles to protect your eyes but goggles will do little to protect your face and ears. If you take anything away from this article it should be that you can get seriously injured if you don't protect your eyes out on the paintball field.

Again the most important thing when it comes to clothes is to cover yourself from head to toe and to be comfortable in your clothing. Something else you may want to consider is wearing some gloves to protect your hands. When choosing your clothing just make sure to remember that you may be doing some crouching, rolling and crawling out on the paintball field and that paintballs will be shot at you at a speed of about 300 feet per second on average. Wear some clothes that will allow you to play paintball and not just look cool and you should be fine.

Should You Consider A Pump paintball Gun?

A lot of beginners that are just learning how to play paintball sadly never consider using or buying a pump paintball gun. For whatever reason the pump paintball gun has acquired a negative stigma and isn't even considered in the decision making process. The concern with pump paintball guns is that you'll be at a disadvantage against users of electric paintball guns. True enough playing with a pump paintball gun will put you at a disadvantage but it will also give you the chance to hone and improve your overall game as well.

When playing paintball it is often the players who have practiced with pump paintball guns that have a distinct advantage on the paintball field. Obviously electric paintball guns shoot faster but are they more accurate? Pump paintball gun users are more accurate because they have to be but some paintballers also believe that pump paintballing guns are also more accurate because they are steadier the their counterparts. Pump paintball guns are just steadier in your hands then electric paintballing guns when you fire and this leads to more accurate shots. When you combine these things together it usually leads to a paintballer who is pretty accurate on the paintballing field.

If you are having trouble with your accuracy you may want to consider practicing on the paintball field with a pump paintball gun. Practicing with a pump paintball gun will not only improve your game but it will also help you become a better strategist on the paintball field. Too a lot of paintballers these days rely almost entirely on their paintball guns to take out their opposition and don't develop and real skills in the process. If you're looking for a surefire way to improve your paintball game try practicing with a pump paintball gun.

How To Choose Your First Paintball Gun

One of the best pieces of advice I can give you with regards to purchasing your first paintball gun is to play with as many different guns from as many different manufacturers as possible. Playing with different guns from different manufacturers will give you a much better idea of what makes a good paintball gun and what makes a bad paintball gun.

Another good tip is to seek out and absorb as much information about different paintball guns online. Visit the more popular paintball forms and check out the reviews of respected users and also register to the site and ask questions yourself. You'd be surprised how many people there are out there that are more than willing to help them extend their knowledge and expertise about paintball. Make sure to ask them specific questions about what they like and dislike about specific paintball guns. This should give you a better idea of what you should look for when choosing your first paintball gun.

When choosing your first type of gun you really have to ask yourself the following question: what type of paintball gun are you looking for?

Essentially you can break down most paintball guns into one of three categories meaning overall they are all pretty good paintball guns but they all have one specific area where they excel in. The three categories are speed, reliability and cost efficiency. So question events ask yourself is: do you want a fast gun? A reliable gun? Or the best bang for your buck paintball gun?

If all you're looking for is speed and you don't want to spend a ton of money for a quick and fast paintball gun right now and you're not concerned about longevity and buying a gun than you can upgrade than any of the paintball guns manufactured by Spyder should be right up your alley. Spyder paintball guns won't last forever, they are not the sturdiest paintball guns around and they are not paintball guns that you want to invest into with upgrades but they are great fast paintball guns for beginners.

If you want a reliable gun and you want something that you can hold on to for a long time and are looking for something that will require a lot of maintenance and will be easily upgradable and worth the investment then you are looking for something like a Tippman paintball gun. Tippman paintball guns are little more expensive than most, they are not the fastest paintball guns out there and they're just all around not all that spectacular but they are very reliable and it will last you a very long time.

If you don't have a lot of money to invest into a paintball gun right now but you don't want to continue renting anymore then you may want to consider a pump action paintball gun. A pump action paintball gun works just like a shotgun in that you have to pump the paintball gun in order to drop a paintball into the chamber to fire it off. Pump action paintball guns are actually great for beginners because they really teach you how to play the game of paintball very effectively. Pump action paintball guns teach you conservation they teach you how to shoot accurately and they just make you a better all-around paintball player. As far as pump action paintball guns go, Phantom is the best manufacture I know of.

Well there you have it and to summarize: play with as many different guns as possible before buying your first paintball gun and do as must research online as possible. And finally make sure to decide what kind of paintball gun you want before deciding on your first paintball gun.

Video On How To Stay Alive In A Paintball Game

There are some pretty good tips in this video primarily aimed at beginners who don't know any better.

The tip about playing until a paintball actually breaks on you is actually a pretty good tip though because I've seen a lot of noobs make the same mistake of walking off the field because they got hit by a paintball. Don't make that mistake.

Also watch the video to see what you're supposed to do when you don't know if you got hit or not because you can see because of your mask.

Gear And Equipment you Need To Play Paintball

If you haven't already tried paintballing, paintball is an extremely fun and adrenaline packed sport. In order to play paintball you will need some basic equipment such as a paintball gun, sometimes called a paintball marker, paintballs, sometimes referred to as paint, and find me you'll need something to protect your eyes from straight paintballs. I strongly recommend you buy a paintball mask to protect your face years and eyes. There is a common misconception that paintball can be dangerous and painful but that doesn't have to be the case if you take the proper precautions and wear the right protective gear. Below is a list of gear and equipment you will need to play paintball.

A paintball mask or goggles. To put it bluntly getting hit in the face with a paintball that's traveling at approximately 250 through 300 feet per second is extremely painful and can be really dangerous particularly if you get hit in the eyes. Don't take any chances and put as much attention into buying a good paintball mask as you do in purchasing your paintball gun. A good paintball mask will be easy to see through, will have thermal lenses that will prevent fogging, will have comfortable padding, will be easy to breathe in and will be lightweight.

A paintball gun. While it is not necessary to play paintball with a paintball gun, firing away at your opponents with a paintball gun is just about the funnest thing you can do in paintball. There is a huge variety of paintball guns in the market from many manufacturers. If you're just getting started with paintball you'll probably just want to rent your equipment your first few times out until you have a better idea of whether or not paintball is something you'd like to devote more time to.

If you feel the strong urge to buy a paintball gun at the outset, I strongly urge you to at the very least try a few different guns prior to buying the first one. It is important to know that preloads all paintball guns shoot at the same velocity and for the same distance on average. The biggest difference when it comes to paintball guns is the quality of the assembly, the ease of maintenance and the overall performance.

Paintballs are paint. When you get out into the paintball field there really is only one-way to eliminate your opponent and that is by spraying him or her with your paint. The most critical thing with paintballs is to make sure that you have the right sized paintballs for your sized barrel.

Hopper. The paintball gun Hopper is the thing you load your paintballs into and the thing that feeds the paintballs into your paintball gun chamber. The most important thing with a paintball gun Hopper is to make sure you get one that does not jam often and obviously that she get one that is compatible with your paintball gun.

Air. If you are using anything other than a pump action paintball gun you will need an air source to power your weapon. Most folks opt for CO2 because it is cheaper than using nitrogen and still quite effective.

If you're just getting started with paintball it's a good idea to rent your equipment your first you times out as you assess how much you like or dislike the game. Paintballs can be pretty addictive and chances are if you like it you will know within a few minutes of your first paintball match.

The best advice I can give to a beginner to paintball is to make sure you protect your eyes, face, and ears by wearing a good paintball mask. I guarantee you will have a much better time if you don't have to worry about you in the face and then you can turn your full attention to enjoying the thrill and adrenaline of hunting prey.

How To Pick Your Next Paintball Field

There are a lot of matters to weigh when selecting a paintballing field. If you want to ensure yourself a good time then you must check the facility out beforehand and ensure it has everything that you're looking for. Below are a few different matters you may want to consider.

Amenities

The first you want to do is look into the facility maybe see if you can find some images online of the lay out. Are the fields indoors or outdoors and how many are there? If you're lucky, a paintballing facility by you will have both indoor and outdoor playing fields. This can come in handy if there is inclement weather the day of the planned outing. It is also strongly recommended that you check out the playing playing fields and their terrains beforehand. Does the paintball playing area have supply bins located through out the playing field? The layout and size of the playing field should also be of interest to you as well as the natural environment that might come into play or just provide a scenic back drop. A location with paintball bunkers and other structures can make for thrilling games with obvious strategic advantages. The game of paintball really takes a turn for the better when you include structures and obstructions because it adds a strategic element to the game. These types of fields are perfect for the most popular game in paintballing which is cature the flag. There's no doubt about it, paintball is a lot more fun when the paintballing playing field has all kinds of junk thrown about.

Gear

Knowing what kind of equipment the paintball facility rents out is also really good information to have beforehand. Obviously you want to play at a paintball facility that has high-quality gear so you can get the full experience of paintball. If the players are not paintballing gun experts they can consult with someone who is to make sure that the equipment they are providing is of a decent make. Every paintball playing field is various in what they provide so it's a good idea to check them out before your paintball date. If you plan on wearing goggles or a face mask and you don't own one or the other you better call ahead and ask to see if your paintballing battlefield will rent out that equipment.

Prices

And of course how much will it cost? It's also a good idea to ask about their pricing on other pieces of gear as well. Many playing areas can charge a pretty hefty premium on these items. Also, make absolutely sure to follow the rules for the playing area as far as paintballs go. This is another place where you can get some online reviews for paintballing playing fields and their pricing.

Paintballing can indeed be fun for the whole family and safety can be ensured by taking a few steps to before the paintballing outing. Be safe, have fun and above all plan ahead.
